You know, 5-years ago I was running affiliate ads on blogs. Then Adsense came, and here we are, with millions of blogs, and a rampant blogger attitude of "how can I make a few bucks?" Wow, times have changed since 2003-04 when bloggers didn't want to make money.
Adweek released a story today talking about ad spending blog.
Blog, podcast and RSS feed advertising are the fastest-growing segments in alternative media, according to a study released today by research firm PQ Media.
Combined spending on the three surpassed $20 million last year, the study found. Spending rose by almost 200 percent in 2005, and was expected to grow by another 144 percent in 2006, the report claimed. While these numbers show a fast climb upward, spending on blogs, podcasts and RSS remains well under 1 percent of the market as a whole.
Hey, it's still low in my opinion, but that's just because nobody's working hard enough to make blog advertising easier for bloggers. Let me work on that, ok? :) Stay tuned.
